Itinerary
1.Kuixinglou Tower – The 8D City Viewpoint
Start your adventure at Kuixinglou, a spot that shows off Chongqing’s famous “8D city” charm. Here, you’ll see how skyscrapers rise from hillsides and roads twist through layers of the mountain city. It’s the best place to understand why Chongqing feels like a real-life maze.
2.Hongya Cave – Chongqing’s Most Famous Landmark
No trip to Chongqing is complete without a stop at Hongya Cave. At night, the wooden stilt houses light up like a glowing fairytale castle on the riverside. It’s the most photographed landmark in the city, perfect for your postcard-worthy shots.
At this point, visitors need to choose between two paths: one is to continue walking forward toward the wholesale market and the riverside; the other is to take the metro along the Jialing River to keep exploring.
OPTION A: Unlock Downtown
3 Chaotianmen Wholesale market area & Raffles city
Chaotianmen Wholesale Market is also worth exploring. As a port city, Chongqing has always been an important trade center. The scene of busy workers delivering goods forms a contrast with the fancy Raffles City in the distance, which is very cyberpunk style.
4 Riverside & Baixiangju Apartment
Baixiangju, a 25-story building without an elevator, is a classic residential apartment in the mountain city. Because it is closely integrated with the terrain, there are entrances to different floors on the 1st, 8th and 15th floors. Such a building can only be found in Chongqing.
OPTION B: Train by the river
3.Liziba Monorail Station – Metro Through the Building Hop on the metro and ride to Liziba Station, where the train dramatically passes through the middle of a high-rise apartment. At night, the glowing windows and neon lights add a cyberpunk feeling you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
4.Zhongshan 4th Road – A Quiet Stroll in the City End the evening on Zhongshan 4th Road, often called the most beautiful street in Chongqing. With its tree-lined paths, old buildings, and peaceful atmosphere, it’s a gentle contrast to the city’s buzzing nightlife. Walking along the cliffside trail here will leave you with a calm and lasting memory of Chongqing.
