Tour Itinerary

Before 10:30 | Arrive at Naka Dai Village
Drive to Naka Dai Village and meet your local rainforest guide.
The village has just over 200 residents, and more than 40 locals work as rainforest guides. Each guide normally leads only around 4–6 guests, offering a small-group experience with people who know the forest, agriculture and local environment firsthand.

10:30–11:00 | ATV Ride into the Rainforest
Hop onto an agricultural mountain ATV and ride from the village toward the rainforest entrance.
The journey takes you deeper into the mountains, away from paved roads and developed tourist areas. As you enter the forest, mobile signal gradually disappears and the rainforest adventure begins.

11:00–15:00 | Rainforest Trek & Stream Adventure
Spend around four hours trekking through the tropical rainforest with your local guide.
Around 80–90% of the route follows streams and waterways, so expect to walk through shallow water, cross rocks and move through dense tropical vegetation.
Along the way, you may:
- Catch small fish and freshwater shrimp
- Taste local rainforest ingredients such as sour ants
- Learn how to find water and food from tropical plants
- Discover rare and protected rainforest plants
- Look for insects, lizards, frogs, snakes and other wildlife
- Try traditional rubber tapping
- Make simple handicrafts from natural materials
- Swing above the rainforest stream
Your guide will also explain how rubber farming and local agriculture have shaped life in Xishuangbanna, as well as the relationship between local livelihoods, rainforest conservation and sustainable development.
Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and are never staged or guaranteed.
At the end of the trek, board a bamboo raft and travel out of the rainforest to the wilderness kitchen.

15:00–16:00 | Wilderness Kitchen & Rainforest Meal
After the trek, arrive at the wilderness kitchen and prepare a local-style meal using fresh ingredients.
Cook together, enjoy your meal surrounded by nature and relax after several hours in the rainforest.
What Makes This Experience Different?
Led by Local Village Guides
This experience is led by guides from Naka Village itself rather than guides brought in from outside.
Rainforest tourism has become closely connected to the local community, and the small group size gives you more opportunities to learn directly from people who live alongside the forest.
More Than Just a Jungle Hike
This is not simply a walk through beautiful scenery.
The experience combines outdoor adventure with an introduction to rainforest ecology, traditional forest knowledge, rubber farming, agriculture and local village life, giving you a deeper understanding of how people and nature coexist in Xishuangbanna.
Important to Know
This is a real outdoor rainforest experience rather than a developed scenic-area trail.
Expect to get wet, walk through streams, cross slippery rocks and spend around four hours in natural rainforest terrain. Mobile signal may disappear after entering the forest.
We recommend wearing comfortable quick-drying clothes and shoes suitable for walking through water.
Individual activities, water levels and wildlife sightings may vary depending on weather and natural conditions.
This experience is best suited to travelers who enjoy active outdoor adventures and are comfortable getting wet, muddy and close to nature.
