From the onset of my China group trip planning activities I realised I’ll have challenges with transport logistics as we ventured towards more rural parts of China but also cities just too big to research through social media and maximise short time stays in between with a local guide. Thankfully, that’s when we discovered Suvon’s Instagram channel. Her entertaining tips gave us a few good laughs and naturally drew us in, prompting us to reach out for her help.
What happened next was a marvellous interaction from bespoke planning preparation to in-trip support end-to-end with competitive pricing across our 2-week trip. I also had last minute transport requirements crop up which Guoer kindly accommodated, providing me peace-of-mind at each step. Beware, High-speed train bookings can be tricky at certain times of the year due to demand! I had no chance across 4 train reservations despite using trip.com reservations well in advance (30 days!), in the end without Guoer’s help our intercity transfers would have been a disastrous nightmare (no joke!), each ticket had sold out as soon as it went on sale 15 days before it departs for the tier of travel we desired, but luckily Guoer secured them where my attempts failed (see attached photo). The team kindly arranged all the private transfer vehicles which were luxurious 7 seaters as we had a few large suitcases in our group of 4, so the extra space was crucial especially in areas like Zhangjiajie where Didi ride hailing does not provide XL transport options to our hotel over 1 hour away from train stations.
Suvon and Shawn took us on a memorable tour of Chongqing filled with hotpot and secret tips and tricks we’d never have figured out alone. I do recommend having a local guide like this as it was hassle free simply following instructions and being led around vs having to constantly look at your map and translation apps.
Jessie from Shy’s team in Zhangjiajie accompanied us across 3 days of guided travel, making all our arrangements for us ensuring we had a comfortable time end-to-end.
I really recommend using this team for your next trip to China, it can be complex and tricky with various nuances language barriers and an overwhelming number of things to see which needs hassle-free triaging and prioritising support.
