Transportation Options

Metro: Take metro line 2 or line 10 to Zengjiayan Station. Exit from Exit 3 and walk about 50 meters to reach the museum.

Free entry—But need to make a reservation in advance on the WeChat official account “重庆中国三峡博物馆 (Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum)”.

It is recommended to reserve at least one day in advance to ensure smooth entry.

The museum is open from 9:00 – 17:00 (entry stops at 16:30) from Tuesday to Sunday, and closed on Monday.

1st Floor: The Magnificent Three Gorges

Highlights: Three Gorges circular – screen movie, Wushan Man Fossil, Three – sheep Bronze Zun, Tiger – buttoned Chuyi, etc.

Special Experience: Through multimedia displays and physical exhibitions, experience the natural wonders and cultural changes in the Three Gorges region.

2nd Floor: The Road of Chongqing City

Highlights: The urban development of Chongqing from ancient times to modern times, a nine – square – grid hot – pot model, and a copy of Jiang Jie’s letter.

Special Experience: Learn how Chongqing developed from an ancient Bayu city into a modern metropolis. The exhibition content is vivid and interesting.

3rd Floor: Sculpture Art of Han Dynasty in Bashu & The Anti – Japanese War Years

Highlights: The Bayu Divine Bird and the Rapper Figurine in the Han Dynasty Sculpture Art Exhibition Hall, as well as cultural relics and historical materials from the anti – Japanese war period.

Special Experience: The Han Dynasty Sculpture Exhibition Hall showcases the artistic achievements of the ancient Bashu region with exquisite stone carvings and pottery figurines. The Anti – Japanese War Years Exhibition Hall makes people feel the historical weight of Chongqing as the temporary capital during the anti – Japanese war.
