Begin your visit by helping prepare fresh bamboo for the pandas — a fun and hands-on way to learn about their daily diet. Then, explore the Panda Poop Research Area, where you’ll discover how panda droppings play a crucial role in scientific studies. By analyzing them, researchers can accurately determine the health conditions and population of wild pandas, providing vital data for conservation.

Next, get an exciting close-up view of pandas, standing just about an arm’s length away. (Photography is not allowed here, but you can use a panda photo taken from the outdoor area.) Continue your tour with a guided walk through the park, watch an informative educational presentation, and join fun interactive sessions such as cutting bamboo leaves and making panda buns.

Kuan Zhai Alley, or “Wide and Narrow Alleys,” is one of Chengdu’s most famous cultural streets. Once part of an old Qing Dynasty neighborhood, it now blends history and modern life with traditional courtyards, teahouses, and boutique shops. Strolling through its stone-paved lanes, you can feel the rhythm of Chengdu’s “slow life” — peaceful, stylish, and full of local flavor.

Beyond its architecture, Kuan Zhai Alley is a paradise for food lovers and culture seekers. Try authentic Sichuan snacks like dan dan noodles or sweet rice cakes, sip a cup of Gaiwan tea, and watch locals play mahjong in open-air teahouses. As night falls, lanterns light up the alleys, creating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere perfect for walking, taking photos, and experiencing the heart of Chengdu’s old town.
